Thabile Mabele steps into the spotlight as she prepares for the final stage of the Mrs Township South Africa pageant.
The evening of December 6 marked the beginning of a life-changing chapter for City of Johannesburg employee, Thabile Mabele.
The 48-year-old heard her name announced as a finalist for the prestigious Mrs Township South Africa pageant.
For Mabele, this achievement is far more than a simple title - it represents the fulfillment of a dream she has carried since childhood.
By reaching this stage, she is celebrating her own evolution as a woman and the personal growth she has achieved over the years.
When the announcement was made, Mabele felt a wave of gratitude and realised that her hard work in the community and her inner development were finally being recognised.
“When they called out my name, I was filled with gratitude and emotion. It felt like everything I have been working towards — my community work and personal growth — finally came together.
“In that moment, I kept thinking, 'Wow, this is really happening. This is my moment.' It was both humbling and empowering,” Mabele said.
Having her husband in the audience proved to be a vital source of strength, as his presence kept her calm and gave her the confidence she needed to shine.
“Seeing my husband there meant so much to me and made the moment even more meaningful. His love and support kept me calm and confident," she added.
Mabele believes that this pageant is a powerful platform that will allow her to lead and inspire other people with clear intention.
According to her, finding one's purpose is a gift that can change the lives of everyone in a community.
As she prepares for the grand finale in 2026, Mabele’s focus is fixed on being herself, while remaining consistent in her service to others as a public servant.
