A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the double homicide that transpired at the Inxiweni Primary school in Tembisa.
The Gauteng Times previously reported that the shooting resulted in the deaths of the school principal and administrator, weeks after the deputy principal of another school, Dinoto Technical Secondary school, was shot while entering the school’s premises.
SAPS had initially arrested a 26-year-old female in connection with the double murders. Nevhuhulwi further confirmed that the suspect was also an employee at Inxiweni Primary school and appeared before the Tembisa Magistrate’s court last Friday for a murder charge.
Gauteng South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson, Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, confirmed that a 35-year-old man was arrested late last week and has appeared in the Tembisa Magistrate’s court on a charge of murder with two counts.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority in Gauteng South, Phindi Louw Mjonondwane, has confirmed that the two suspects will reappear in court on 1 December due to a bail investigation.
“The suspects will remain in custody while an investigation into their profiles and address verification will take place.”
