METRO FM’S wildly popular flagship relationship advice segment, Ask A Man, is officially making the leap to television, locking in a major broadcasting milestone for SABC 3 (now branded as S3).

The big reveal dropped on S3’s official social media pages on Saturday, 5 September, sending shockwaves of excitement through its massive fanbase. “ASK A MAN is here to help you navigate love, relationships and everything in between!

Got a relationship dilemma or a question you need advice on? Ask us!” the broadcaster announced, urging eager followers to start submitting their stories ahead of the premiere. Fans of the show have already flooded the comment sections, stating that they are “patiently waiting” for the official launch day.

For over a decade, Ask A Man has stood as a cultural staple on Metro FM, cementing its foundation as one of South Africa’s most-listened-to radio features. Airing during the Break Away show—hosted by the dynamic Khutso Theledi alongside resident co-hosts and relationship counsellors Somizi Mhlongo and Naked DJ (Quinton Masina)—the segment provides a unique, raw, and unfiltered platform.

It gives listeners, primarily women, the chance to call in anonymously, lay bare their complex relationship dilemmas, and receive tough-love advice from the hosts and the passionate broader public. The television crossover reflects the segment's undeniable cultural impact and comes at a time of massive celebration for the station.

Metro FM recently marked its historic 40th anniversary with a special edition Top 40 song list. “We’re celebrating the biggest songs that shaped generations and became part of The Sound Of Us,” the station shared during the milestone broadcast.

The winning streak doesn't stop there for the radio station. Excitement is already reaching a fever pitch for the station's upcoming legendary Heatwave tour, alongside a massive birthday celebration trip to Thailand where presenters will celebrate live with loyal listeners.

While details regarding the official television air date and broadcasting times are expected to be released by S3 in the coming days, the broadcaster is already encouraging people with relationship dilemmas or questions to reach out and submit their stories.
